Profile Description

Big Ridge State Park occupies 4,500 acres facing the south side of Norris Lake at its widest point. The developed portion includes a separate constant level lake approximately a mile long and covering 45 acres. It was formed by building a lateral dam across an arm of the main lake. In addition, a hilly wooded peninsula, almost an island, extends four miles along Norris Lake and is kept in the wilderness state except for a few trails. Swimming, horseback riding, hiking and camping are just a few examples of things to do at Big Ridge State Park.
